OSA opens *NEW* Orleans Campus!


OSA forms alliance with the former Visual Arts Centre Orléans

The Ottawa School of Art (OSA) and the board of the former VACO announced they are combining their resources to ensure stable and expanding visual arts programs are available for Orleans and surrounding communities.

The New OSA campus will be located at, 1490 Youville Drive, in the Bob MacQuarrie Recreation Centre in Orleans, until its springtime move to the new Shenkman Arts Centre. The alliance will consist of a pooling of financial resources and team members to ensure continued, and expanding art classes for children and adults; innovative gallery exhibitions; more accessible hours; and community outreach.

So It's 2009 everyone! Hope 2008 was full of creativity and art.

Just thought I'd let you in on some of the new exhibits to be seen in the new year....

The National Gallery of Canada will be holding another Italian Renaissance show featuring rare works by Michelangelo, Raphael, Giorgio Vasari, Federico, Barocci and Annabelle Carracci. Opening on May 29th 2009

The Canadian Museum of Civilization will be featuring Mystic Beasts: Dragons, Unicorns and Mermaids. See artifacts and newly created models from May 15th to September 20th 2009.

The Ottawa Art Gallery will be showing the work of Michael Harrington starting February 5th 2009. This Ottawa Artist is known for his ominous subject matter and shady figures. Click the like below to see his work. http://www.artnet.com/artist/423969374/michael-harrington.html

In September, the Gallery will also be featuring Rosalie Favell from Winnipeg who creates unconventional self portraits.
