Richard Pousette-Dart
Richard Pousette-Dart's abstract paintings are some of the best I've ever seen. Well balanced with soft shapes, he selects colours that give his work depth and texture.
The smallest touches seem to be what makes his pieces most interesting. Perhaps his work evolved through his own expression since he was self taught, never attending art school. In any case, he's definatly a part of the 40s avant-garde New York art world to pay attention to.
